Chef Kahre Brews…

The April meeting of The Middle Tennessee Chapter of the American Culinary Foundation was held at the Yazoo Beer Brewing Company April 19, 2010. At this meeting the chefs had a contest to create an entree or dessert item using Yazoo Beer. Chef/Owner Rick Kahre of J & M Catering entered a Lemon Pound Cake recipe using a Yazoo hefeweizen beer. He concentrated the beer and used it in place of water, creating a moist, fragrant cake with a unique texture. His creativeness won Rick first place for his entry and a $200 prize.
